We are developing the Cat M1 module base on the nRF9160 V1.2.0.
When we try to evaluate the current consumption in eDRX mode, we found our module even unable to enter eDRX.
But DUT has already negotiated PTW and eDRX cycle timer with

RE: nRF9160 modem couldn't enter eDRX

Hi Didrik,

However, when the UE is given an RRC connection release, it is given release cause 7:

Cause #7 – EPS services not allowed

This EMM cause is sent to the UE when it is not allowed to operate EPS services.

Had this been a "live network" I would recommend you check with your operator that eDRX is supported in your subscription. Are you certain that the Amarisoft and SIM card are configured correctly?

We have a blog post that explains how to configure a Rhode & Schwarz CMW500 for use with the nRF9160 that you might find helpful: https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/nordic/cellular-iot-guides/b/hardware-design/posts/using-nrf9160-against-r-s-cmw500-or-cmw290-in-signalling-callbox-mode

RE: nRF9160 modem couldn't enter eDRX

Any clue be found from the trace?
Thank you for you quick response.

We are using Amarisoft 100 as an LTE simulator.

And the USIM card is a test card, not the commercial card, we programmed it custom。

We will release another firmware to enable trace and then will upload here.
