Hello

I seem to be facing a similar problem now with with version 3.8.0 as well as the latest version 3.9.3.

I can indeed access the link https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-nrfconnect-core/master/apps.json without any DNS issues. So I tried to specify the path to this .json under SETTINGS -> App sources in the nRF Connect App. However, I still an error like this:

JSON does not contain expected _source tag

Its a little annoying because I used to be able to work with the nRF Connect App perfectly till yesterday, and its not working now with no explanation.

Although there is one problem that occurred today after which the nRF Connect App is giving this trouble. When I started the nRF Connect App today it notified me of an Upgrade. I proceeded without upgrading as I wanted to try something quickly and thought of upgrading later. Before I could even open the BLE module, my system crashed with a blue screen. I was able to restart the system, but ever since then, nRF Connect is giving me this gray blank window.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem ?

PS: My work environment is also Windows 10.

Thank you for sharing the solution to this. I'm not sure what's preventing the DNS lookup, but I will make sure to relay this information to the team.

unfortunately, I accessed through browser to access this web site is not successful, even visit http://raw.githubusercontent.com is not successful.Therefore, I suspected it was my DNS, so I changed my host file in the directory C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.I added the following at the end of my host file.

199.232.4.133 raw.githubusercontent.com

Now I can visit https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-nrfconnect-core/master/apps.json for success. And nRF connect is finally working.I have downloaded the BLE module and everything is back to normal.

Yes,i got the same message as you showed when i used nRF Connect v2.1.0.But i got none message when i used nRF Connect v3.3.1.In addition, I have turned off all firewall related Settings on my computer.

Hi,

The app source is already added when you have installed the program so you have been presented with a list of available apps. Are you getting any warning messages when you open nRF connect?

eg message you may get if you are behind a firewall
