The small size of the meandered antenna used in the nRF24LU1 USB dongle seems like a possible contender. Q1.

2. If you mean the transmission line width and gap then yes, you can use a simple calculator, we often use AppCAD for this. If you mean the antenna trace width then no this can still not be calculated easily, the meandering pattern is optimizded for this antenna trace width, by changing it you risk degrading the performance.

Best regards,

Best Regards,

This antenna is also used in nRF52840-Dongle, you can find the HW files here https://www.nordicsemi.com/Software-and-tools/Development-Kits/nRF52840-Dongle/Download#infotabs

The antenna trace width/thickness is not easily calculated. We instead recommend that you replicate the layout exactly and then measure the impedance with a VNA, and adjust the matching if needed https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/pdf/nwp_017.pdf?cp=14_13 Keep in mind that any assembly and/or enclosure will detune the antenna, so you need to tune it with all this in place (as it will be used by the end user).

We can assist with this if you do not have a VNA.

Best regards,
