I'm glad you got it working. What two sec_tags are you using?

There is no limit to how many times a sec_tag can be used.

Finally made it working by changing sec_tag to a different number.

Really confused, now I've got two sec_tags with the same certificate, one is working and the other one is not.

Is there a limit on how many times sec_tag can be used/overwritten?

One more test done:

I added TLS support to mqtt_simple project and also installed certificates using this app. Still getting -45.

Tried both AWS and test.mosquitto.org.

I will try another simcard even though the current iBasis one has enough balance.

More tests done:

1. Switched to test.mosquitto.org, generated certificates there, got same error -45. So it's not server side related.

2. Used AT Sample project to write certificate to make sure that nothing in my project interferes with AT engine. Same error -45

I've started collector after Zephyr is initialised and stopped when got error -45.

Hi, are you able to take a modem trace? This might give us some more information regarding what's going on.

More research done.

I've added the following to my prj file

CONFIG_NET_LOG=y
CONFIG_MQTT_LOG_LEVEL_DBG=y

and the only additional line came up before error:

[0m<dbg> net_mqtt_sock_tls.mqtt_client_tls_connect: (0x200200b8): Created socket 2[0m
ERROR: mqtt_connect failed with error -45

In the source code it goes up to socket_offload.h:72, which then returns the error

return socket_ops->connect(sock, addr, addrlen);

An important thing to mention.

I can successfully connect with generated certificates and AWS CA certificate usingthird party MQTT client.
