I ran into this list recently: https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcomp_matrix_nrf52840%2FCOMP%2Fnrf52840%2FnRF52840_ic_rev_sdk_sd_comp_matrix.html
I am currently developing with SDK15.2.0 on an NRF52840 SoC.
Based on that

RE: NRF52840 IC vs SDK compatibility

Hi Tim,

The latest production silicon of 52840 is revision 2 and this is most likely what you are working with (unless you have an old 52840 dev kit) https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/comp_matrix_nrf52840/COMP/nrf52840/nRF52840_ic_revision_overview.html

Notice that revision 2 has a build code of 'Dx0'.

The table you referenced shows which SDKs are compatible with this rev of silicon.

If you look at the chip on your 52840 dev kit (or whatever PCB you have), the package marking will confirm which rev of silicon you have, for example the chip marking will include 'QIAAD0' which indicates the QFN package and build code D0, which confirms it is rev 2 production silicon https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fps_nrf52840%2Fordering_info.html&cp=4_0_0_9
