It is the specification of CTS on SIG. You have to implement it by yourself.

Ok.After Inclusion of this service.current_time.xml into android application helps me in printing exact current time using android application, instead of printing constant given time.Is it?

You should develop an android application including the Current Time Service (UUID: 0x1805) which is listed on SIG. See SIG service.current_time.xml.

Does it mean that I have to develop an customized android application which includes a CTS service including setting exact current time?I think here mobile application is server so we need to implement a service on server side.is it?

Then such implemented service is considered as customized service or vendor specific service?

Can I also know why is it native on iOS and why not on android?

You already got the exact current time from iOS in this post because the Current Time Service is native to iOS (as described here). Now you have to implement the service on the android phone, and here is a BLE Android tutorial that will cover that. Or take a look at this project that may be helpful. If you have any issue while developing the Current Time Service on android, you should ask the help from the Android forum.

I am able to read the data on UART now.As we are passing initial value in characteristics we are able to display constant data on UART.Can you please let me know how to display exact current time using Current Time Service?

Sorry, it's my mistake. You have to enable the Read permission, and then the example can read the data from the mobile.

Current Time Service is native to iOS (as described here), but it seems that this is not native on Android. You have to implement the service on the android phone, and here is a BLE Android tutorial that will cover that. Or take a look at this project that may be helpful.

On the nRF device, you can modify the Current Time Application to fit your requirement.

Please check and let me know ASAP.I think you have performed all the steps mentioned in the documentation while testing. were you able to see functionality of button1?

My requirement is that I want to set current time on to nRF Chip by pressing a button in mobile.So before starting implementation of customized service I started looking on exsisting CTS example as reference.For this purpose should I have a customized service or can I use exsisting CTS with any modifications?

Thanks for the reply.After configuring server as you said.I was able to see the calender value in cts characteristics after getting connected same as it displayed in the final image you sent.And I am also able to print "Current Time Service discovered on server." on the UART.

But,after that I have tried continuing further steps as mentioned in CTS document i.e pressing button 1 then I got disconnected from the device.The capture of log information is attached below:

Sorry for the delay. You can configure GATT server on nRF Connect mobile with the following:

After the security procedure is complete, verify that the Current Time Service on the server has been discovered. The message "Current Time Service discovered on server." will be printed on the UART.

can you please let me know how soon I can expect reply on this connectivity issue and also as I mentioned in previous reply I am confused with those two different replies for almost same scenario.Please make me clear so that I can move forward.

And delay in your reply is delaying our project development too.If possible reply ASAP or in the meanwhile you find the solution to solve it, also suggest me the ways I can try around to solve the problem.I will be keep trying in parallel.

You have to implement the service on the android phone, and here is a BLE Android tutorial that will cover that. Or take a look at this project that may be helpful. You cannot configure GATT Server on the android phone by loading .ncs file data into the nRF Connect mobile version. That is for the nRF Connect desk setting.

As this post indicates it seems that the CTS Service is not native on Android. You have to implement the service on the android phone.

According to the document,it is like we have to compile and download the code from <InstallFolder>\examples\ble_peripheral\ble_app_cts_c and then connect another DK to the nRF Connect and load server into into by just adding .ncs file and clicking on apply to device button.

But In my case I have only one DK,and have nRF Connect on mobile.So I tried configuring GATT Server on to mobile with the help of options provided like Configure GATT Server,by manually uploading of data present in .ncs file.

Hi Swathi,

May I know the reason why you want to give those values? According to Current Time Application documentation, you only need to load the file cts_central.ncs to set up the server. Please follow the steps in the Testing section.

Hi,

I have set server setup on mobile.Can you please let me know in cts_central.ncs "uuid":"2A00","name":"Device Name","value":[110,82,70,53,117] .while iam setting characteristics,I have three ways to give value one is empty,and one is some text and the other is hex value.Among this three tabs where I have to give this value mentioned above.Similarly there is value for peripheral preffered connection parameters.

I gave a try giving empty value and gave a try giving 110827053117 in text tab,and also gave a try giving value in hexadecimal format tab.

But I have a log error that Current Time Service not found on server.

I guess only if gatt server is not configured properly this error is displayed.is it so?or are there any reasons?

But,error code 12805 is related to peer/bonding issue.

Now the issue is due to bonding or due to gatt configuration problem?
