So, are you only using the two DKs for your test now? Are they using the same THREAD_CHANNEL (defined in sdk_config.h)? Alternatively, you can override it by using the command "channel <nr>", e.g.: "channel 12" on both devices.

What project file did you use? SDK\examples\thread\cli\ ?

Try to use

SDK\examples\thread\cli\ftd\uart\pca10056\blank\<your IDE>.

Then flash the same file to both DKs. You are using two nRF52840 DKs, right?

Step 6 : Wait until LED1 stops blinking, which indicates that both devices are connected to the network, either as a Child or as a Leader

What do you mean?

I understand that it can be difficult without the proper HW, but it is (unfortunately) a big challenge to do embedded development without being able to test.

Perhaps you can elaborate a bit, and we can find some way that may work for you.

In this mode there cannot be a router , u should have included another way of commissioning in your document ,which is been provided in https://openthread.io/, due to covid I can't experiment and verify the method of commissioning process , due to which I rise the doubts

The usb cli example uses the USB peripheral (the USB port on the long side of the DK). The UART cli example uses the USB cable on the short end (UART over USB).

I don't believe that the eui24 command has anything to do with the network keys. If you get a node reset with the prebuilt openthread stack, the node does not need to be commissioned again. The network data is stored in flash. So unless you change anything crucial in that matter, you don't have to commission it again after a power failure.

If a node gets reset , due to power failure, if stared again , does it need to be commissioned again to rejoin the mesh , if the mesh network is built using eui24 command (i.e. in hand shaking mode )

Hello,

The thread stack will take care of retransmission of the packets that aren't within reach of the device, so it doesn't matter if the device is in "Link Local", "Mesh-Local", or "Global", for that matter. The mesh stack will take the device address as an input.

From the test description of the CLI example, it says: "For a complete list of CLI commands, run the help command".
