I'm sorry, I might be misunderstanding you, but don't you say initially that you can see the OTS example in nRFConnect? Yes, the OTS example, by default is still only able to connect to the OTS central application.

As I mentioned, the BLE image transfer demo app for Android is only able to detect and connect to the BLE image transfer demo itself. This has to do with the Android app, and not the OTS application I think.

What is this Android image transfer application you are using? Is this a custom application that you made, or is it the app for the nRF52 BLE image transfer demo found on our GitHub? If the latter is correct, I believe you can only detect the ble-image-transfer demo advertising with that application as that is the only one the Android app is scanning for. You should be able to connect to your DK with this app if you flash the ble-image-transfer-demo onto the DK.

ble_app_ots is still an experimental example and has only been tested and confirmed to work when an nRF5 DK is on both the peripheral and central end.
