&lt;p&gt;The device can scan and advertise &amp;quot;simultaneously&amp;quot;. I suggest taking a look at the &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v16.0.0/ble_sdk_app_rscs_relay.html?cp=7_1_4_2_1_2"&gt;ble_app_hrs_rscs_relay example&lt;/a&gt; in the SDK, or any other multirole example. The example also shows how to set the Device Name.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
