 nRF52840 is having the inbulit RTC for keeping the time. 
 
 Should i need to use external RTC with coin battery for even after power off the BLE nRF52840. 
 PLease provide the connections for external RTC with nRF52840 Soc

&lt;p&gt;The RTC in the nRF52 series ICs is not a Real-Time &lt;strong&gt;Clock&lt;/strong&gt; and it is not intended to keep time, it is a low-power timer named Real-Time &lt;strong&gt;Counter&lt;/strong&gt;. If you want to keep track of time when the chip is in system OFF mode, or power is cut, you need to add an external Real-Time Clock to your design.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That will depend on the RTC &lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;you&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; choose!&lt;/p&gt;
