&lt;p&gt;If you do not want to initiate a connection, you could put the temperature data in the advertising packet of a beacon. The &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.0.0/ble_sdk_app_beacon.html"&gt;ble_app_beacon&lt;/a&gt; application can be used as a starting point. There are already lots of questions on this site about updating advertising data, please use the search function to get more details on that.&lt;/p&gt;
