How to best use Segger Embedded Studio for nrf5340? Is there a documented way? Or do I still need to install the whole toolchain on my own? I've always deemed the old way of installing only SES and nRF5 SDK (for e.g. nRF5232 and nRF52840) very sexy and straightforward.

I mean, if you want to quickly start working with 5340, then you can temporarily put a Segger.

in my opinion, the segger turned out to be more convenient for development under the Nordic. But this is just my opinion

I do not think. Look, now for nrf5340 they are promoting the use of Zephyr RTOS. It compiles without using an IDE, but. ...
1. for the same Zephyr use a visual studio code and appropriate plug-ins (link)
2. for Nordics and Zephyr there is a separately assembled version of the segger (link1, link2)

I think that it will be possible to conduct development in the Keil, but how convenient will it be?

Thank you for your reply, Amanda. Can you maybe provide me with the contact details for the South African region where I can inquire regarding the roadmap for support on the nRF5340?

I would appreciate some feedback from the engineers after the summer holidays.

You can use Segger Embedded Studio. It's have support for nrf5340. Again, it is free for Nordics.

But this is if you want to quickly work with the new hardware platform.

Hi,

Unfortunately, nRF5340 PDK is only supported in the nRF connect SDK (ncs for short) which supports gcc based compiler(s). See Working With nRF5340 and this blog post for more information on how to set up the toolchain and getting the SDK:
