Remember that the vl53l1x - like any other external peripheral - neither knows nor cares what microcontroller you use.

The peripheral just provides a standard I2C interface

The Nordic SDK provides examples of how to use the I2C controllers on the Nordic parts.

Apart from the lowest-level interaction with the I2C hardware, the operation should be independent of what microcontroller you use.
