I can recommend the nRF52DK, the nRF52840DK and the nRF51DK, depending on what chip you intend to use. They all have on board debuggers, which you can also use to debug external devices.

If you are looking for a debugger only (not SDK), I suppose a JLink would work.

The DKs are cheap compared to professional debuggers.

Absolutely!!

Debugging is a key part of development - you can't expect to just write a whole load of code, and have it "just work"

What HW are you running on, if it is not an nRF51DK?

Development without a debugger is very difficult. I suggest you get hold of one.

Even if I try to run your project, it may not behave the same on a DK as on your PCB. Different pinout (floating input pins), XTAL settings, and so on can make a huge difference .

Have you looked at the nRFConnect logs to see what's happening?

Have you instrumented your code and/or used the debugger to see what's happening at the device end?
