We were trying out the LTE RX/TX test using the AT%XREFTEST command and undestood that for LTE RX testing ,an external signal generator is required. Is there any way we can use another nrf9160 LTE in TX mode instead of external signal generator

RE: NRF9160 LTE RX/TX Functionality test - XREFTEST

Hi Aswin

Ok, just for functionally verification, it should be ok. You will not be able to communicate between the modules, but as that's not the intention here, it's fine.

cheers,

We tried the below.

In one of the board , we enabled LTE TX at 1950.0 MHz ( Band 1 , +17dBm ) and in other board we enabled LTE RX at 1950MHz ( Band 2 , -25dBm RX signal power at antenna ).

When TX not enabled , the received signal strength at the LTE RX board were -75dBm and when transmittor enabled it changed to -26dBm. We are observing some significant change in the received signal strength. And we would like to know whether this kind of testing is okay or not to verify the functionality ? Please advise

RE: NRF9160 LTE RX/TX Functionality test - XREFTEST

I'm afraid that's not possible.
