I'm using a PCA10040 board to sniff BLE packet.
Following the document named "nRF Sniffer for Bluetooth LE v3.0.0", I managed to see some packets on wireshark during several seconds (arround 30s).
After that, the board

RE: PCA10040 doesn't work

Hi,

If you press and hold the "IF BOOT/RESET" when powering the board, it will enter bootloader mode for the interface MCU (entering the bootloader for the Segger J-Link programmer on the board).

Instead of starting the board that way, try powering it the normal way and try the following command from a command line such as cmd.exe:

nrfjprog --recover

You can also try to install the latest J-Link Software and Documentation Pack from Segger, then use the program J-Link Configurator to upgrade the interface MCU firmware to the latest firmware version, to see if that improves the stability.

Regards,
Terje
