Hi again Akash,
No we don't use the DFU service from nRF5 SDK. In fact the mcumgr and smpsvr were not developed by us (we are contributing to them now but we don't own them).
I am not aware of an embedded DFU master example yet. The customer may need to have a look at the source code of mcumgr.

So it looks like we are no longer using the DFU service from nRF5 SDK?

Is there an example that shows serial DFU from one Nordic device to another in NCS? How should I customer get started if he wants to ultimately do a DFU to the nRF53 over serial from a different MCU he has on his board?

Hi Akash,
I followed this guide and it worked for me. You can use nRF Toolbos/nRFConnect on Android/iOS to do DFU update.
