Any tool installation needs appropriate logging mechanism to trace cause for any installation failures.

This tool needs to incorporate some mechanism to throw error incase of any failure to install, to trouble shoot issue.

Otherwise it consumes every one's band width.

Hi Oyvind,

Yes we use McAfee, and my company uses quite strong security settings so I can't disable it.

That turns out not to be the problem, as I managed to install V1.3.0 via the Toolchain Manager once I had disabled my VPN connection to head office. So looks like a networking/DNS issue.

its not antivirus issue.

search for below , you will find few issues listed in internet:

Simon Third, our developers have never encountered this issue and do not know the solution at this moment.

Do you have any anti virus running at the same time?

for V1.3.0 failed installation it is not throwing any error.
then click open bash , then bash displays message

NCS repositories are not yet cloned here. To do so run the following command:

ncsmgr init-ncs

when I execute command ncsmgr init-ncs, i got below error in bash:

ImportError: DLL load failed while importing _socket: The paramter is incorrect

The link github.com/.../4855 , says
as Installing update KB2533623 in Win7x64 host should solve this issue,

I installed and this issue resolved in my environment.

Hi Oyvind,

I also tried the C:\Nodic\NCS130\ path with the same result. There was no log file generated.

I tried to use the debugger in Toolchain Manager with set to break on exception but there was no exception. But I've never used this tool either.

Let me know if I can do some more debugging for you?

I checked in internet based on these errors and found that installing windows update Windows6.1-KB2533623-x64.exe for windows 7 shall address this issue.

I just installed and re-installed nrfconnectsetup342ia32.exe. Now I could see Open IDE also against V1.3.0.

Note: This is nothing to do with location of the installation.

I couldn't find any logging happening in these files.

However i opened command prompt by using " Open Bash", as per the instructions typed below command and i got errors as specified in the window: ncsmgr init-ncs

i think if we solve this issue then we might be successful.

There is a debug feature if you press CTRL+SHIFT+I inside of the Toolchain Manager. There is also a log file under %HOME%\AppData\Roaming\nrfconnect\pc-nrfconnect-toolchainmanager\logs

Tried to install at directory: C:\ZZ_USER_DATA\Nordic\NCS\v1.3.0

but still no luck, status shown as : Downloading, Installing, initializing environment.

same observation as D Driver installation.

may I know any log files we can see to check any messages.

Can you please choose directory to e.g. C:\Nordic\NCS130\. Just remove the current "installed" version, and reinstall NCS v1.3.0 with changing directory to C:\<your folder>\NCS130.

The important thing to test here is to use C:\, this is what I used and what worked for me.

Hi Oyvind, I have the same problem.

Using nRF Connnect V3.4.2, and Toolchain Manager v0.7.1

I install SDK v1.3.0 but don't get the Open IDE button.

In my install directory I only have .west nrf toolchain directories.

Hello!

Can you tell me the exact path that you installed to? What version of the Toolchain manager do you have installed in nRF Connect v3.4.2? I've tested on my computer running Toolchain Manager v0.7 without any issues.

In the top left corner, can you please click on System Report and provide me the details?

After installation I couldnot see Open IDE button next to nRF Connect SDK v1.3.0

it is not even alerting with any failed installation message.

When i click open bash , i got message
