I'm glad to hear it worked.
Do you have any suggestions to factory reset nRF9160DK?
You can erase the application, by calling "nrfjprog -e -f nrf91". This will then leave the nRF9160 application flash blank. Note: this does not do anything with the modem itself, it only erases the application.

Thank you very much for your recommendations. I followed your instructions on another board and it works. Still not sure what was wrong with my previous board.

Did you try to use P0.10 and P0.11 as RXD/TXD on UART1?

As mentioned, P0.01 and P0.00 are physically connected to another IC on the DK, so you cannot use those pins if you want to connect your own UART device. Do note that not all GPIOs are available to use freely on the nRF9160-DK, but P0.10 to P0.13 are available on the pin header. Here you can see the default configuration, and which pins are already in-use on the DK:
Do you think I need to add CONFIG_UART_1_NRF_UARTE=y in my cfg file?
No need in ncs v1.3.0, as the dts has this peripheral enabled in the .overlay file.

Could you click where it says "tasks" in the SES text box, and select "output" and show what that states?

It might be that you need to delete your build folder, and regenerate the project. If that still shows errors, please post them to me.
