Can you please suggest me which example I can use for sending characteristics and add my own new characteristics(from nRF5 SDK)?

Any document/link to add services/characteristics in the Example project and add PWM/UART/timers turn different pins HIGH/LOW etc

I have ordered another board and get today. I have successfully uploaded the code on the new board.
Is there any solution for the previous board?

Also, I am getting the update dialogue. Should I update this?

Hi,

You don't need to uninstall the SES installation that was installed through Toolchain Manager. You can just install SES from the link in the document you attached earlier in addition.

It seems like there's a problem with the connection to the board. It could be a faulty cable or something with the board itself. This case has several links you could check out to see if any of them helps.

Yes, I switched to nRF5 SDK as getting issues in NCS. But still getting issues :(
Should I now uninstall SEGGER for nordic addition and reinstall the given link(www.segger.com/.../)

Hi,

The guide you attached and the video you linked are both for the nRF5 SDK, while in your original post you were using NCS. If you've decided to use nRF5 SDK instead of NCS, you should not use the Toolchain Manager to install the toolchain or open SES, as that is for NCS. Instead you should follow a guide specifically for using SES with nRF5 SDK, as the one you have found. You should then install SES and other requirements as described in chapter 7 of the document you attached. The document is not the latest version of the documentation, but I think it should work. The latest can however be found here.

Also, could you verify which version of nrfjprog and JLink you have with the following command: "nrfjprog --version"? Can you run "nrfjprog --recover" to recover the onboard nRF chip?

1-Yes I am opening IDE from nrf connect(Updated.)
2-Yes I have installed the nRF Command Line Tools.
3-I am following this document. Is this Ok for start?

4-I am at this point. 6 Running a first test

When I copy (G:\Work\RoboArt\nrf\DeviceDownload\nRF5SDK17009d13099\nRF5_SDK_17.0.0_9d13099\examples\peripheral\blinky\hex\blinky_pca10056)
this file in JLINK folder Board restart and I found a text file with name FAIL.
Which include "Error while connecting to CPU".

Any suggestion please?Thanks

Hi,

Did you open SES from the Toolchain Manager as in the picture below, or did you open SES from somewhere else? Opening SES from the Toolchain Manager will automatically set up the environment so that you don't have to set it up yourself. If you're opening it somewhere else, you must remember to set these yourself.

If you're using the Toolchain Manager, could you try to update the toolchain?

Please also make sure you have installed the nRF Command Line Tools.

Hi,

Are you sure your development kit is nRF52840DK, and that you're not using nRF52840 Dongle? The problems in both of your replies are problems you can get with the dongle. The dongle doesn't have a debugger, and therefore you can't debug it in SES without using an external debugger. In addition, when programming the dongle, you should use the Programmer in nRF Connect for Desktop. If it's the dongle you have, you should take a look at the getting started page for the dongle, as well as how to program the dongle.

If you're using the DK and not the dongle, please let me know so I can try to figure out what is then causing your problems.

One more thing I have connected the board with usb cable LED is blinking.
But unable to find board.
Open a file explorer and confirm that the development board has appeared as a removable drive
named "JLINK".

The getting started page is a great place to start when you're new to NCS. If you want to know how to build and program an application with SES you can check out this guide.

If you want to be able to control a LED on nrRF52840DK with your phone, you can take a look at this sample to get you started.
