 and downloaded (SES) is discovered by the mac (same with an IPAD 2 pro). Android and Linux examples 
 work but that is not the issue.

&lt;p&gt;macOS will not display all types of LE devices in bluetooth settings. It&amp;#39;s usually only devices such as HID keyboards that are supported natively by the OS. You may try the &lt;span&gt;&lt;a title="HID Keyboard Application" href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.0.0/ble_sdk_app_hids_keyboard.html?cp=7_1_4_2_2_15"&gt;HID Keyboard Application&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt; to confirm it works. You can alos use our nRF connect app on the iPad to discover all types of LE devices.&lt;/p&gt;
