Which nRF SoC are you thinking about using in your project?
Have you checked out the nRF5 SDK or the nRF Connect SDK?
Both our SDK's comes with example applications that are common use-cases.

There are many examples that demonstrate GPIO usage, but a simple one to start looking into is the Timer example from the nRF5 SDK. It demonstrates how a timer can be set up to toggle a GPIO connected to one of the onboard LEDs.
Do you have a Development Kit, or will you be working on a custom device?

Supports for Keil 4 was actually removed from our latest nRF5 SDK v.17. If you would like to work with Keil 4 then you will have to use one of the older SDK versions, such as the nRF5 SDK v.16.0.0.
