Thanks for the response i am using the version v.1.3.0 , i mistakenly added v.1.2.0

Are you using NCS v1.3.0, or v1.2.0?
Because you seem to be using code from v1.3.0, but want to use the toolchain from v1.2.0. Those are not compatible.

As you have now gotten your code to NCS v1.3.0, and that is the newest verions, I rocommend you use NCS v1.3.0.

I am not familiar with coverity, but the compiler used is v1.3.0/toolchain/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc.exe.

I guess you mean if you can build NCS from a cmd window not opened from the Toolchain Manager, when NCS is installed from the Toolchain Manager?

Then the answer is no, there is no simple way of doing that.

i need to set coverity Which compiler shall i use ?

Also without opening toolchain is it possible to build the project through the cmd

Hi Didrik ,

I can able to build through cmd . It was not building previously because module folder was missing .Thanks for the help .

That is some progress at least.

That file, and include directory, should have been added automatically by the build system.

In your build/zephyr folder, there should be a file called '.config'. Can you send it to me?

What does your CMakeLists.txt file look like?

Another change between NCS v1.2.0 and v1.3.0 is how the Zephyr build system is included.

If your CMakeLists.txt file has two lines similar to these

include($ENV{ZEPHYR_BASE}/../nrf/cmake/boilerplate.cmake)
include($ENV{ZEPHYR_BASE}/cmake/app/boilerplate.cmake NO_POLICY_SCOPE)

Try to replace them with:

find_package(Zephyr REQUIRED HINTS $ENV{ZEPHYR_BASE})

Hi ,

I tried without quotes , yes i setting CONFIG_UART_0_NRF_UARTE=y but when i remove it , few more build steps got added but inside build folder ninja file is not generated .

Before doing the build using cmd is it required to do configuration ?

Could you try without qoutes around the board name?

Also, are you setting CONFIG_UART_0_NRF_UARTE=y in your prj.conf?

OK, this is probably because there are some build artefacts in the build folder, so West thinks that it finished the configuration step last time, which it didn't.

try deleting the build folder, or add '-p' to the end of the west command to do a "pristine build".

In NCS v1.3.0, the boards changed name to 'nrf9160dk_nrf9160ns'.

Try using the new name, and see if that solves your problem.

If that doesn't work, I need to know a bit more about what project your are trying to build, and your prj.conf file.

Hi Didrik ,

I didn't open the cmd not from toolchain manager , i opened cmd.exe there i was trying to build my project . i tried to open cmd through toolchain -

1 .open my test project

2. then i have given command -west build -b "nrf9160_pca10090ns"

but still following error came -

Please let me know which configuration i am missing

Hi.

Based on the path you used, I assume you installed NCS using the Toolchain Manager?

Did you open CMD from the Toolchain Manager?

If you did, it should work without any problems, and you should not need to provide the full path to the executible, 'west build -b <board name>' should work.

Finally, the board name you wrote is wrong, for the nRF91DK, you should use "nrf9160_pca10090ns", though I assume this is just a typo in your ticket, and not related to the issue.
