&lt;p&gt;I would still think this is caused by some board/assembly issue. Is the voltage of the board correct when it is powered by the DK? Is the reset pin connected to anything on the custom board? Can you try to short the reset pin to VDD before doing a recover/erase operation with nrfjprog?&lt;/p&gt;
