The QDID refers to a specific qualified BT softdevice stack used in the product, here is the current list for QDID for the nRF52840:

Several products may use the same BT stack (thereby refer to the same QDID).

I have last query on your statement "So if you are using the same module and firmware in different products, that is fine" in query 4.

In snapshot both are from different companies. In that case either module or firmware will be different. But still how come there is same QDID.

Hi,

1. a) I have done modification at application with our custom profile. Still do I need to redo certification and get new QDID or declaring this QDID is good enough.

Custom profiles should not impact the qualification. The QDID we provide is valid with a custom profile.

1. b)Whether can I declare this QDID and can I use BLE logo.

Yes, assuming your company is in good standing with Bluetooth SIG and the listing fee is paid then the logo is available to use

2) Though we are using our own profile still do we need to mention Nordic multi-profile subsystem QDID: 45222.

You would only need to refer to our profile subsystem if you had used particular parts of it. If you are only using a custom profile, no need to refer to our profiles.

3) Though we use nRF chip, we are preparing our own module. So in this case do I need to do RF-PHY test again.

Nordic always recommends that customers at least re-test the RFPHY at a test lab if you have made any modifications to our design layout. You do NOT need to re-qualify, the testing is just a confirmation that their antenna and layout is working as expected.

4) Whether the same QDID can be used across products. I am bit confused with below snapshot. If I see D048051, I am seeing same QDID and “Combined Designs” same as Nordic. So in this case even they are using the same.

If the compliant Bluetooth portion is the same in each product, then you only need one listing, and add each new product using the “add product” steps in the launch studio page for that listing. You only need separate listings if the Bluetooth portion of the product is different between the products. So if you are using the same module and firmware in different products, that is fine.

5) As per below link 138767 is the QDID for S140 v7.0.1. But if there is one more S140 release, QDID will be changed. Then do I need to do re-certification my product with new QDID for latest S140.

If you pick up a bug fix release from us, there is no need to re-qualify that, the original QDID will be valid for it. If for example, we released a SD 8.0.0 which included some new Bluetooth feature, then yes you would need a new listing to refer to that one. But if we made a 7.0.2 release to fix some bugs, you can use that with no problems.
