I am playing around with the BLE_proximity_template on the Redbearlab BLE shield and an Arduino Uno. I uploaded the sketch and paired my Android Lollipop device with the shield. Success! The serial monitor now encourages me to "Do more stuff here

RE: Using the BLE_proximity_template for Arduino

You can get the RSSI value on the phone, then trigger an alert on the nRF8001 from the phone app when applicable using the immediate alert characteristic.

RE: Using the BLE_proximity_template for Arduino

It is referring to the Bluetooth defined Proximity profile.

RE: Using the BLE_proximity_template for Arduino

Thanks for your reply. I don't get why the template is called "proximity", then. To me proximity means somehow dealing with distance. If there is no RSSI or other measure of distance, where is the proximity in this template?

RE: Using the BLE_proximity_template for Arduino

Hi

So have you tried the different examples in the nRF8001 Arduino SDK? What do you wish to do?

For your RSSI question, look at this thread
