It's been a low priority for at least a few years... 😏

If you're using the nRF Connect for desktop only for your own development needs then the simplest solution is to generate two versions of the DFU package. One with everything and another for just the app. Then pick the appropriate one when using the desktop version.

No, it does not look like it. The ticket is still open. I do not have any timeline for when this will be fixed, but I suspect it has a low priority as there are several possible workarounds (split zip in two, test with a phone or use nrfutil from the command line).

Hi Daniel,

The smart phone apps implement this correctly. It is necessary to split the update procedure in two for SD+BL+App updates, but that does not mean that it is necessary to split it in two separate upgrade images. See DFU package combinations for details.

Hi Daniel,

This looks like a bug (or at the very least a limitation) of the nRF Connect BLE app. I have reported it to the team so that it can be fixed in a future release.
