Hi Face,

There is no known problem and I am not able to reproduce the situation unless i am somewhere close or inside a building where there is little to know gps coverage.
4 satellites is needed to get a gps fix and it can take 0 - 5 minutes before the fix happens if it is tracking 4 satellites.

I would recommend testing in a place that is open whit no tall buildings around so that the device has clear view of the sky.

Here is a link to a website that shows where the satellites are, so you can get an estimate of how many you should be able to track approximately. Remember to choose your location(town).

I tested on both Thingy91 and nRF9160 DK. My Thingy91 version is 1.0.2 and DK is 0.9.0.

And what version of the Thingt91 do you have ? v1.4.0?

I will test and see if I can reproduce the situation on a similar kit

Ok that is good, then it should not be to hard to get a connection. SIM is not required and A-GPS only improves the connection time and is not critical for the functionality.

What version of ncs are you using?

I was testing it in my balcony and the antenna was facing the sky. The GPS project does not require a SIM card if I do not need to use A-GPS ?

I tried the GPS project in samples/nrf9160/gps to avoid the affection from LTE(or power saving modes to switch between LTE and gps). The GPS still has no fix. Following is the log and it is tracking 0, 1, 2

Are you outside or when testing? To get the best result would recommend going outside when testing the GPS.

Where are you based?

What SIM card are you using?
