For the nRF52840 DK, please follow up in the other thread.

For the nRF52840 Dongle, what is your approach for programming it, and how does it fail?

Please note that the nRF5 SDK for Mesh does not contain any examples for the nRF52840 Dongle as of yet, and so you need to port any example from the DK version. See nRF52840 Dongle Programming Tutorial for more information (written primarily for nRF5 SDK, but the general information and approach holds for nRF5 SDK for Mesh as well.)
