 I have temporarily connect the SPI interface of my test chip to the SPI pins on the remote, and transmitted a packet...in order to program my test chip.

&lt;p&gt;I found the problem...the Address Width register was left in the default values state.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That register was not in the register dump that I was looking at.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Changing it to three byte address solved the problem.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
