For some reason whenever I try to pip install pc-ble-driver it will only ever install version 0.11.4. This causes a problem since I need the nrfutil library and the latest version of that needs pc-ble-driver-py version greater than 0.14.2. Hopefully this will help someone who had a similar issue. My solution was simply to build the project from source, which seemed to work fine.
I have pip version 20.2.3,

Raspbian 10,

and I am using a Raspberry PI 4.

I have been able to build and install the bindings from source, but I am just wondering why pip would only get version 0.11.4. This isn't so much to solve my issue as I have the bindings and they are working fine now but I'd like to understand the problem and help others understand if they are trying the same thing as me.

RE: Why can I only pip install version 0.11.4 of pc-ble-driver-py on Raspberry PI?

Hi Kody,

What pip version do you have?
What Distro do you have?
What RPi do you have?

Maybe you can download files directly from PyPi, https://pypi.org/project/pc-ble-driver-py/#files

Regards,
Jonathan

RE: Why can I only pip install version 0.11.4 of pc-ble-driver-py on Raspberry PI?

I did the other day but got a similar result. Couldn't find 0.14.2 or anything after 0.11.4. I did just build the repository from source though and that got me the latest version.
Usually, different Linux distros make python pip point to specific versions of some libs, I don't know how that works exactly
