MQTT knew that there should be a broker (like a mosquito). Does nRF9160 use a broker using LTE-M? Or are both methods available (LTE-M, Wi-Fi)?

If I'm at the place that LTE-M or Wi-Fi is not available, MQTT is not available. Is that right?

I don't understand. walkie-talkie is the same as D2D is it not?

Sorry for the delayed answer.

No, D2D is not possible as it will go via network infrastructure, and is not part of the eMTC (enhanced Machine Type Communication).

Please see Simple MQTT sample which can be used to communicate between device. No direct communication possible.

No, nRF Cloud and LTE Link Monitor is not the same. GPS in LTE Link Monitor is the position of the LTE tower you are connected to, not the nRF9160 itself.

If you are not seeing GPS data in nRF Cloud, what application are you running on your device? I suggest programming the Asset Tracker to test the GPS functionality.
