 I am using a custom board setup for nRF9160 and I have trouble opening the project. I have got the project from one of our third party contractor.

&lt;p&gt;This configuration is not defined in NCS (not in 1.3.0 and not in master either). The reason for this is that the PDM peripheral is not configured as non-secure, see the &lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/include/spm.html"&gt;SPM documentation&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It looks like this configuration was added as from the &lt;a href="https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/pull/1896"&gt;PR #1896&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;but then removed the day after in &lt;a href="https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/pull/2338"&gt;PR #2338&lt;/a&gt;, because the change caused GPIOTE to stop working on non-secure apps, see &lt;a href="https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/pull/1896#issuecomment-634626123"&gt;this comment&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I will get you some information tomorrow on if and how you can configure the PDM&amp;nbsp;peripheral&amp;nbsp;as non-secure.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
