Funny enough, the characteristic showed up but I could not explain why. I will clear the cache from now on before testing new characteristics. If you are using nRF Connect for a phone, it may cache the characteristic, you may need to remove the device from the Bluetooth menu and also enable/disable flight mode to clear the cache.
