What is the procedure to use PCA10056 DK Debug OUT P19 connector to program external board for eg Nordic Thingy 52?
I have shorted SB47 on PCA10056 DK but it is failed to detect idcode.

RE: How to use PCA10056 DK P19 debug out to program external board?

If the Thingy:52 is supplied externally then SB47 should not be shorted. Programming the Thingy:52 is done exactly the same as you would program any other nRF52 custom board. You use the onboard debugger on the nRF52840 DK and connect it to the Thingy via the 10 pin connector. That's the setup.

RE: How to use PCA10056 DK P19 debug out to program external board?

I am telling both power and non power cases not working for me.

If it is inconvenient to have a separate power supply on the external board, the nRF52840 DK can supply power through the Debug out connector (P19). To enable this, short solder bridge SB47. Note that as long as SB47 is shorted, it is not possible to program the onboard nRF52840 SoC even if the external board is unplugged.

RE: How to use PCA10056 DK P19 debug out to program external board?

Also, what voltage do you measure on VDD on the DK?

Please answer this:
Have you checked that the the board is properly supplied from the nRF? How is SW9 configured on the DK? If it's in either Li-po or USB, have you configured the REG0 register to anything other then the default value?
Also, what voltage do you measure on VDD on the DK?

regards

What voltage does the DUT demand? Have you checked that the the board is properly supplied from the nRF? How is SW9 configured on the DK? If it's in either Li-po or USB, have you configured the REG0 register to anything other then the default value?

Just something that is good to check ;) : I sometimes have the issue that I don't press the J-tag connector firmly enough so that the pins actually have contact to the pads.
