Follow up question.
I am using nrfutil version 6.1.1 and when I use SoftDevice S132 v7.2 I use the version required value of 0x0101. However, the DFU over BLE process aborts with an error "SD_VERSION failure".

The same setup (same bootloader + settings + application_using_s132_v7.0.1) works fine if I try the DFU over BLE but link my application to SoftDevice version 7.0.1 which uses the command line option --sd-required=0xCB.

Is this a bug in the Soft Device or in the nrf_util or something else?

Yes, The Firmware ID of this SoftDevice is 0x0101. See the s132_nrf52_7.2.0_release-notes.pdf under nRF5_SDK_17.0.2\components\softdevice\s132\doc.

The code is in the release notes documentation for the specific SD version (a pdf).
