Hi,

Could you try to revert to previous modem firmware v1.2.1 and application to see if the problem still persist.
Did you use the ltem or nbiot application?

It was connected to nrf Cloud before I attempted updating the firmware. I do not use the Ibasis SIM, so I never registered the SIM on nrf Cloud, only the device. (I use a Com4 SIM, I am pretty sure the issue is not related to the SIM; when I test the same SIM card in another thingy91 without the firmware updates, it connects to nrf cloud right away. )

You had the Thingy91 at one point connected to nrf Cloud ?

And you have registered the SIM on nrf Cloud?

The device has to be connected to the nrf Cloud before it can be added to a user(your account).

nrf_cloud_transport.nct_connect: getaddrinfo failed -11 , looks like the DNS look up is failing.
