There only API change between liboberon 3.0.1 and 3.0.6 is a slight change in ocrypto_srtp_verifyAuthentication() and addition of new APIs, other than that it is identical. So you can replace <SDK 16>\external\nrf_oberon\ with the content of this zip: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../2625.nrf_5F00_oberon_5F00_3_5F00_0_5F00_6.zip replace the binary library in your project with the corresponding new binary. The SDK 16 crypto test example passes all tests with the Oberon backend and liboberon 3.0.6.

We're using SDK 16.0.0 and don't want to do a major-version SDK upgrade to get this fix. Can you confirm that liboberon 3.0.6 from 17.0.2 is binary-compatible with our SDK, or could you prepare a working liboberon for 16.0.0?

We'll try disabling hard-floats but we do have numerically-intensive code that heavily uses the VFP coprocessor, so moving to the soft-float ABI is a sub-optimal solution for us. It would be like drag-racing an F1 through Manhattan with the traffic lights stopping you at every intersection.

Thanks for the quick reply. You mentioned this is a known issue. Is there anywhere I can refer for more information on this. Also does either liboberon or NRF SDK mention this issue in their changelist at all?

Since this is a somewhat hard to verify issue, for our certification process we need to document this issue in detail.

Hi,

I cannot comment on the details of the liboberon library implementation. However, we are aware of this issue and it is fixed in the latest liboberon version (3.0.6) which is part of SDK 17.0.2.
