&lt;p&gt;The TX power value that is included in the advertising packet can be used as a indication of what TX power level is used on the device, but it will not change the actual tx power of the radio.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You can change the TX power using the follwing softdevice function; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.s132.api.v7.2.0/group___b_l_e___g_a_p___f_u_n_c_t_i_o_n_s.html#gad10e80ba20ddab42d1753fd1be2d8c26"&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;sd_ble_gap_tx_power_set&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;()&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Remember to call the function after the SD has been initialized.&lt;/p&gt;
