I think I've found a solution, but I'm not sure if it will effect other pieces of the code.

Inside adapter.js, https://nordicsemiconductor.github.io/pc-ble-driver-js/adapter.js.html

Function _shortWriteWithoutResponse has a constant timeout time of 2 seconds on line 3833. Once I increased this to 4 seconds I stopped getting errors. I was getting timeout errors before as well, so this seemed like the fix. Is there anyway this could be set to be user configurable in the NRF Connect program? Having to go into the app.asar file's JS feels somewhat hacky.

I see the same on my end. Testing on nRF Connect for iOS this works, so there seems like there is an issue with the nRF Connect for desktop BLE app. I have created an internal bug report. I cannot say when it will be fixed, though.
