I need to power my external board while debugging with the DK52. Therefore I don't use the VDD connection from the DK52, I only connect the external VDD to SH_VTG.
I use Pin19, as follows:

Is this correct? Because I connected it like this

RE: DK52 external programming

Hi,

I cannot guarantee that it will work and that you will not destroy another DK unless you follow the recommended operation conditions, which are listed in this page: https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ug_nrf52832_dk/UG/nrf52_DK/hw_debug_out.html

You should have common GND between the DK and the external board, and the voltage of the external board should match the programming voltage supported by the DK (3.0 V).

There are others programmers available in the market that supports other target voltages: https://www.segger.com/products/debug-probes/j-link/models/model-overview/

BR,

Sorry for the late reply. The voltage on the external board must match that of the development kit (DK). You write that you don't use the VDD connection from the DK52, so it's not given that VDD on the nRF52DK match your external VDD and most likely therefore you are seing problems.
