This type is recommended if the product integrates an LTE antenna or an external antenna is located close to the SIM holder.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Is the SIM holder placed close to any RF components?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you want you can share the PCB files and i can look at the layout. &lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Are you able to get 1.8 volt in the sim slot?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Could you test with the at_client sample (or &lt;span&gt;&lt;a title="Testing a prebuilt application" href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ug_nrf91_dk_gsg/UG/nrf91_DK_gsg/testing_prebuilt.html?cp=2_0_4_3"&gt;Testing a prebuilt application&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;for DK&lt;/span&gt;), and check what&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ref_at_commands/REF/at_commands/mob_termination_ctrl_status/xsim_read.html?cp=2_1_3_16_1"&gt;AT%XSIM?&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;returns?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Do you get any errors code?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Also, check that the SIM-card is inserted correctly in the SIM socket. Some sockets allow the SIM-card to be inserted 2 different ways, but only one way works. And then you need to take the SIM-card out, turn it 180 degrees, and put it back in the socket again.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
