I think you questions in the comment could be a topic for a separate thread. If different questions are on a separate thread, it is easier for others to find the question and the appropriate answer.

I don't think the Android Master Control Panel has been updated with the latest DFU features required for the SDK 8.0.0 bootloader. Try to use the android nRF Toolbox DFU instead. In order for the upload to work, you need to create an init file with the application before uploading it.

I have no ideas. I just know that the softdevice hex file being about 250k is right.

The android app I used is here: play.google.com/.../details It supports binary, hex and zip file. I have rebuilt the source code of wunderbar sensor module that can be found here: github.com/.../relayr-firmware-nrf51-modules

but it does not work though the flashing could be done. I thought that I should flash the softdevice too, then I tried it however even the flashing part could not be done. It stopped right after the DFU started to transfer.

If I flash the device with an original firmware from wunderbar, it works.

250kB is about right for the hex file, hex files have two characters per byte plus a whole load of other overhead in them so they are more than 2x as big as the underlying binary.

Does your android application take a hex file or a binary file? Does it require it to be zipped beforehand? Only you know how your android flashing application works. Have you rebuilt your application code to run at the right place and flashed that on too?
