And by "turn off/on bluetooth";
Do you want to simply disconnect from your connected device, or do you want to stop advertising. Or maybe you want to disable/enable the BLE stack?

Yes, you are correct. i'm able to transfer strings over UART from bluetooth devices.. but i need a function for turn off/on bluetooth.

Do you want to use UART to turn BLE on/off?

So a serial connection is what you want? And that should turn BLE on and off?

Sorry, BLE means Bluetooth

Control On and Off bluetooth via UART.

Thank you for the support,

I have used the NFC pins (9 & 10) as a GPIO,

So need to define "CONFIG_NFCT_PINS_AS_GPIOS" this macro in preprocessor definitions,

It is working now, i'm able to transfer data over bluetooth.

Hi.

You need to make sure that the pins you change to is not used by any other peripheral, which may cause problems.

Also, if the pins are left floating this will most likely cause noise on the line, resulting in a communication error.

Thank you so much for the guide,

i understood the concept from the guide what you have shared.

I need to change the UART pin details as per my carear board, When i change the pin numbers in "pca10040.h" file, BLE is not discovered.

If i change below UART Pins what else i need to change/consider to work normal BLE operation in "ble_app_uart" example

Current state:

#define RX_PIN_NUMBER 8
#define TX_PIN_NUMBER 6
#define CTS_PIN_NUMBER 7
#define RTS_PIN_NUMBER 5

Changed to :

#define RX_PIN_NUMBER 9
#define TX_PIN_NUMBER 10
#define CTS_PIN_NUMBER 18
#define RTS_PIN_NUMBER 20

Maybe you could add some more information here?

Do you want to transfer data using serial or BLE connection?

Anyway, you should be able to use the ble_app_uart example on the nRF in order to transfer UART data.
