You are correct. Checking in dmesg logs I found

[26854.951018] cdc_acm 1-4:1.1: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
[26862.441292] usb 1-4: usbfs: process 15058 (nrfconnect) did not claim interface 0 before use

Providing access to ttyACM0 resolved the issue.

Looking at the screenshot again I see that the messages "PPK opened" "PPK started" is missing from the log, meaning that it's trying to connect but never finishes. Can you check dmesg to see if the USB is properly initialized? Does the PPK software have permissions to access the /dev/ttyACM*? You can try to install the udev-rules to set up all user access to Nordic devices: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/nrf-udev

Hi, not sure what's wrong here. I tried on my Ubuntu 18.04 machine and it works just fine. Will report to the developer, and also test on Ubuntu 20.10, but I will have to install it first. Will get back to you.
