&lt;p&gt;Typically I would then see a current spike on the Otii as I switched everything on. However with the power connected as you suggest it does not seem like SW8 or the reset button does anything, so the lack of current spike made me believe nothing was running. It was in fact just sleeping. When I loaded my original software it worked as expected, and the extra 1.7mA baseline current seems to be gone.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Additionally the sleep current between data transfers has gone down to 57uA, and those current spikes I saw once every second or so seemed to go away. Am I in PSM mode? Not sure, I think I will do some further investigation on the nearby network&amp;#39;s capabilities, but for now I think we have a good idea for what the power requirements are to transfer data every 5 minutes and that&amp;#39;s the main thing I wanted out of this.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I believe this may be related to your measurement setup. Source measurement should be done by connecting to P22 and P21 as done in the diagram I&amp;#39;ve attached below. The first one is the base UDP sample, with PSM.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

When I used the LTE link monitor software in nrf connect and I used the AT+CFUN=1 command I could see that it was connecting to a T-mobile network (I am located in California if that helps). From what I could gather the T-mobile LTE-M compatible network should support PSM.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For the project settings the PSM settings are as follows:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;CONFIG_UDP_PSM_ENABLE=y&lt;br /&gt;CONFIG_LTE_PSM_REQ_RPTAU=&amp;quot;00100001&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;CONFIG_LTE_PSM_REQ_RAT=&amp;quot;00000000&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;

Are you sure that your SIM provider supports PSM?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In order to get the nRF9160 to properly sleep without PSM the modem must be turned off or set to offline mode using AT-commands.
