I'm in search of a PCB-Socket for the nRF5340 with the QFN-94 Footprint. Something like a Clamshell-Socket which can be soldered or screwed the PCB and lets you switch Chips fast for verification puposes. Do you guys know any products which sound

RE: nRF5340 Socket

Hi

This is probably the only solution if you absolutely need a socket.

If not then a carrier PCB like what Andrew recommended might be equally as good of a solution.

Regards,
Jonathan

RE: nRF5340 Socket

Hi Jonathan

I would like to have a Socket like this: https://plastronics.com/catalog/h-pin-qfn-clamshell/

With which i can use one PCB (with the socket on it) to program chips or do verification of code of someone else. A socket like this makes it possible to test any chip that might be sent to me from another engineer so i can debug any errors.

But sockets like this, especially for the nRF53s footprint are hard to find. Maybe i need have one custom made for me.

Regards, Matthias

RE: nRF5340 Socket

Hi Matthias.

What type of testing\verification do you plan on doing?

Regards,
Jonathan

RE: nRF5340 Socket

I recall seeing www.waveshare.com/.../sockets.htm but have no experience with them, plus they only seem to go up to QFN-68

RE: nRF5340 Socket

Sockets for QFN are really not practical.
