I'm trying to understand the possibility of doing a FW update to an empty NRF52810 chip via a host MCU running Linux. We have this setup on a custom PCB, whereas the host and the NRF52810 chips are connected via SPI and UART. We are considering creating

RE: NRF52810 DFU via an embedded host

I'm new to the nRF world so I can only give hints and not a qualified answer:

-528xx devices use SWD, not JTAG.

-afaik there is no default bootloader preinstalled

Approaches may be:

-Using a preprogramming service to flash a suitable bootloader before the Chip/Module is placed on the PCB.

-Ask Segger for a quote on a embedded J-LINK On-Board programmer

-Expose the SWD headers and build a jig to program the bootloader at the PCB assembly service (Why did you exclude that option?)
