Hi John,

The examples in our SDK specify the exact MDK files it should use and the SDK already comes with the MDK version that should be used. It's located inside \modules\nrfx\mdk in the SDK. So you don't need to worry about the newer version of the MDK that comes with SES. They are not used anyway.

The SDK Release Notes tell you what versions of tools they are tested against.

It's best to stick to the tested version - Segger is an independent company, so they don't necessarily keep compatibility with Nordic SDKs (or any other 3rd-party stuff).

You can download earlier versions of SES from the Segger site.

The latest nRF5 SDK is 17.0.2:
