Hi,

So you flashed the PPK with your application instead of flashing the DK?

You can try to do a complete erase of the PPK by using command line tools. Stack the PPK ontop of the DK like this. Do an erase like this:

nrfjprog -e

This should erase the fw on the PPK. Next, start nRF Connect Power Profiler app and it should ask you if you want to reprogram the PPK. If you want to program the DK then you would either have to take of the PPK or set SW3 to EXT. I don't recommend doing the latter. Taking of the PPK each time you want to reprogram the DK is the best approach.

Hi,

So after successful tries... my new PPK is not working anymore !

But this time i think i understand wht's happening, by error i run a new nrf code on DK with segger, but kie you mention i can't upload code on DK while PPK is connected, so is it flashing PPK instead of DK.

If so, how can i reset PPK so that nrf power profiler ask me to flash again PPK ?

Hi, so i receive a new PPK and this time it works.
Maybe i didn't cut properly the SB40 from DK the first time, can it damage the PPK ?

Hi there,

I have some additional questions, and would appreciate if you answer them:

Did the Power Profiler App ask to update the FW on the PPK when you first started? Our suspicion is that it might have flashed the DK instead of the PPK, as our earlier discussion indicate that the SW has some issues detecting the PPK.

Do you have an external J-link Debugger? Could you try to connect the debugger to the PPK as shown here? That way, we could ensure that the SW doesn't flash the wrong board. Note that the SW3 should be set to EXT and that the USB should be connected directly to the PPK.

No, that is not normal. This is an indicator that you're PPK has been damaged, maybe it has been exposed to very high voltage/current?

Has the PPK ever worked? What version do you have?

So i set power switch to External. with 3V it's not better.
3V and 0.02 A

But when i switch off the DK, the DK is still running and the power of the PPK increase to 0.17A, is this normal ? (but i get an erro rmessage in the console : Error occured when close opened device. Errorcode: CouldNotOpenDevice (0x4) Lowlevel error: JLINKARM_DLL_ERROR (ffffff9a)

The debugger on the DK is used both for programming the PPK and the DK. Unless SW3 is set to EXT, you shouldn't be able to flash the DK with the PPK stacked ontop of it. If you're able to program the DK with the PPK stacked ontop, then it means that the PPK isn't registered by the debugger. This should only happen if the voltage on the PPK is too low to be detected on the SWD lines.

Can you try to connect an external 3V source to the "external supply" pin on the PPK, and put the "power select" switch in the "External" position. Then try to reconnect the PPK and see if the FW is successfully flashed to the PPK after clicking yes to the "The board needs to be programmed" message"?

I just start a new project with fresh devices and new softwares.

I change the USB cable with no luck, and the

USB cable seem to work as i can see debug log in the terminal and upload new code to the DK with or without PPK

Did you see the issue only recently after updating to v3.1.0? Could you try changing USB cable? We have seen that it has been the culprit before.
